Bangkok Inter Food Co., Ltd. was established in 1987 as a manufacturer and distributor of rice products. The mainstays of the company's production include rice flour, glutinous rice flour (dry and wet process), mixed flour, rice starch, glutinous rice starch, modified starch and mixed starch under the brand name of "Jade Leaf" and "Kangaroo". Around 70 percent of its total output is exported to many countries in the Asia region. Its total annual revenue is around US$ 8-10 million. Bangkok Inter Food has invested around US$ 150 million in its business. The company employs a total of 284 employees including two engineers and 24 quality assurance staff. Its production facility in Nakhon Pathom to the west of Bangkok is well equipped with modern technology from Japan, the U.S. and Europe. Here, the quality standard, the safety to consumer and environment, and customer satisfaction are priorities. Bangkok Inter Food's success today is due to various policies and systems that the company has implemented to ensure the quality and safety of its products. In 1998, the company achieved the HALAL certification, which ensures its products are prepared in accordance with Muslim regulations. HACCP certification was achieved in 1999, confirming the company is in compliance with the HACCP process control systems covering physical, chemical and biological safety hazards. Other industrial qualifications the company has received are Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Clean Technology (CT), Preventive Maintenance (PM), Self-Maintenance and 5S. The latest addition to its string of successes is the recent ISO 9001 certification that the company received from SGS (Thailand) Ltd.
